How to Wire Wrap a Side Drilled Bead Video Tutorial

Learn a technique for wire wrapping side drilled beads. Then use those beads to make a sweet pendant you can wear alone or layered with other necklaces or make 2 to make earrings or use it for other jewelry projects.

In the video I use an amethyst gemstone chunk, but this technique can be used with any bead that is side drilled.

Here’s the video tutorial:

Tools and Materials:

  • Side drilled bead. I used an amethyst chunk bead, but this technique is for any side drilled bead.

  • Wire. Use whatever side wire will fit through your bead. I used 24 gauge for this bead because that’s what fit, but I usually use 20 gauge wire for my wire wrapping.

  • Wire Cutters

  • Round nose pliers

  • Chain nose pliers

  • Bent nose pliers or another pair of chain nose pliers

I just slid the wire wrapped bead onto a chain to make a cute necklace, but like I mentioned above, you can use these beads in a variety of ways.
